“Before HURIDOCS’ database, there was nothing to guide us in Africa concerning the decisions of regional human rights mechanisms. We needed to resort to the jurisprudence of the Inter-American Court, which had issued decisions concerning the long-term detention of people and the violation of the presumption of innocence, for example. Had there been a good database at that time, I would not have had to go to all this trouble! Our former approach, which had to do with publishing jurisprudence in book format, was definitely not as convenient as the Caselaw Analyser.
When we met the HURIDOCS team, we felt this was a unique opportunity to get a website for all those who deal with the African human rights system. HURIDOCS’ team not only delivers work on time but also does it in a very efficient manner. I treasure our collaboration because a lot of good has come out of it. Their commitment is not just to implementing software, it is way more than that.”
