The North Korean Religious Freedom Database is an open-access collection of documented cases of religious freedom violations perpetrated against North Korean citizens over the last three decades. It was developed by Korea Future and built with support from HURIDOCS.
The database contains entries for more than 270 victims and includes:
- personal details, such as age, gender and religious and belief association
- criminal charges brought against the victim
- human rights violated, such as arbitrary arrest, solitary confinement and torture
- where the human rights violation took place
- perpetrator
- and more
The database also features visualisations, including the most common criminal charges and the reported number of documented victims charged for religious practice by year. It is available in English and Korean.
